  Childhood is all about exploring and going on adventures. As the weather starts to cool here in the southern hemisphere, it’s time to wrap our little ones in warm winter natural layers. Our knit range has a focus on texture, colour and longevity this season. We recently heard a frightening statistic that Australians throw away six tones of clothing every ten minutes. Combined with the increasing amount of synthetic fibres on the market, which is adding to landfill on a daily basis.  This season we explore the ethos of slowing down and buying once and buying well. Investing in classic wardrobe staples that are saved for and last the test of time becoming family and generational staples that share a story and family memories. We have simplified our colour palette to a more unisex range, allowing for more wears within a growing family crossing between the genders and clothing that can be passed down and shared. Quality is our key focus with our range being made from the finest cotton. We also have some exciting news! Frustrated by the ever growing amount of synthetic yarns and pilling one wear expensive knitwear, we have listened to our customers and we are now releasing our first ever womenswear range. Happy New Year! We said so long 2017 yesterday by spending it at home surrounded by friends and Family. 2017 was one for the record books. We introduced our third child to the Miann & Co family and so began the juggling of a newborn, becoming a family of five, renovating and being a business owner in 2017. It has been a year of massive highs and at times we have been stretched to our limit running the tank on minus and all with not a lot of sleep. But as we enter 2018 I cannot help but smile. We survived and the goals we have kicked in 2017 have been the biggest ones with the biggest rewards. Our business hit the 7 year mark and whilst in some ways it feels like a lifetime it also feels like we are just starting out. So many areas to grow in and so much still to learn.  We want to say huge thanks firstly to our small team and all the people that support our business behind the scenes. This includes incredible friends who have participated in photoshoots, the gorgeous parents who have given their time to help us with our photoshoots the incredible brand reps that have collaborated with us in 2018. To our 3 full time working staff members that have kept our business moving whilst we have had babies and extended our home, this year it has been incredible to see you take whatever we have thrown at you and run with it. To you, all our loyal customers, thank you for supporting a small family business, for loving what we do and for sending feedback and keeping us real when we make mistakes. Christmas is an exciting time of the year but for some Christmas can be a really hard time. This year we have teamed up with Geelong Mums Organisation to help those in need. Geelong mums is a local organisation who recycle nursery equipment as well as clothes and other baby essentials.  We’ve created a 12 Days of Giving campaign to assist us in donations. Simply ‘adopt’ and purchase the special Miann & Co friend we've put on sale for the day, and one dollar from every sale will go towards Geelong Mums Organisation. They will be using the money to purchase material goods including nappies, wipes, clothing, etc.  As a mother and parent, I want nothing more then to give the very best to our little ones, and I know that this thought rings true for mothers everywhere. As we enter into the giving season and celebrate Christmas, we thought this was a great opportunity to give back to the mothers and families in need this season and also talk about our chosen Charity, Geelong Mums. Geelong Mums mission is to share the joy of motherhood, in partnership with support agencies by recycling baby essentials. Geelong Mums does not receive any state or federal government funding, so it is up to us to lend a hand where we can.  To read more about this amazing charity and help out click here. We recently had the opportunity to have a short stay in Noosa. We had long been told that it was the perfect family holiday and to be honest this place did not disappoint. Located 90 minute drive north of Brisbane on the Sunshine Coast, Noosa is home to some of the best beaches in Queensland.  In 2017 Noosa was rated in the top three beaches in the South Pacific by the TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice Awards. These postcard perfect beaches surrounded by tropical forests are the ideal place for families with their blue, transparent, calm waters and perfect white soft sand. Our stay was short and it was more like a taster - but no doubt we will be back again with our family. See below some of our favourite things to do The Coastal Track  Noosa has so many great walking trails. The kids were always up with the early sunrises, so we used the opportunity to walk some of the beautiful costal tracks. Hasting Street  Whilst it might not be kid heaven, it was shopping heaven. A great place to grab a coffee or smoothie post walking, and to browse all the gorgeous shops. One particular homeware store was Signature on Hastings, which we adored!  Fish and Chips on the River Our pick for Fish and Chips was the Red Emperor Fish & Chips, which had the most beautiful fresh seafood. Great to get takeaway and head down to the river for a relaxed bite to eat, plus the kids can burn off the last of their energy.  Gelato  Our nearly 9 and 6 year old claimed that Noosa had the 'best gelato ever'. This was a big call considering these guys have had the real deal in Italy. Their favourite ice-cream ever was Massimo's Gelateria, situated on Hasting Street. Be sure to treat the kids (and yourselves) to this delicious treat! We are so glad we finally got to visit a place that has been long loved by fellow friends and families and I have to say it did not disappoint.  If you have been thinking about taking a trip with the kids don't wait as there are so many fun memories to be made.  Rebecca x       HOLIDAY ESSENTIALS 1.  Christmas is my very favourite time of the year. The home baking, beautifully curated Christmas windows, the kids' squeals of excitement and the magical mood it creates.  Nothing makes me happier then having family and friends around to hit the pause button and really share all that is Christmas.  This year our range is all about capturing the magic of Christmas. Instead of the traditional red and greens and typical Christmas colour palette, we have created a calm and escaping palette of soft pastels.  The mood we wanted to share with this range is both magical and a slower calmer pace. Instead of the hustle and bustle and busy times that Christmas can create, we wanted to head back to soft basics and create a range of escapism and a place where simple childhood memories can be made. We hope you love our range as much as have loved creating this change of pace. We have included a few of our magical favourites - a new and softer colour way in our knitted pinafore and a calmer unisex range of body suits made from the finest cotton.
