This was our second trip to Palm Springs. Both short visits but a place that has our family heart. Palm Springs is a beautiful oasis in the middle of the desert. The smell, the sunshine, the food and the shopping are all super fun. It's no secret we are mid century lovers and so palm springs ticks all the boxes to be a favourite family destination.
Joshua Tree
Joshua tree is a quick 45 minutes from Palm Springs and a great day trip. We headed out just after lunch to avoid the heat in the middle of the day and to be in the park for sunset, which we had heard is amazing, and it did not disappoint.
The Cholla Cactus Garden Trail was a highlight for the boys, where they could climb boulders, watch the sun come down and have an afternoon snack. It's hard to explain to magic of Joshua Tree. The feeling that you get when you visit this park is surreal and something that will remain with us forever. This is high on the priority list when visiting Palm Springs.
We explored the main centre, where there was a night market on one night. There was fresh produce, singing and dancing. The atmosphere was electric and the kids had a ball.
This visit we had a little drive around to see all the mid century architecture. These houses are amazing and mid century is my favourite style of architecture. I love the light, the textures and the shapes.
Moorten Botanical Garden
If you love a succulent or two, Moorten Botanical Garden is a must visit. Filled with different succulents and filled to the brim with inspiration. This garden was great to visit.
Palm springs is a lively oasis in the desert that we could visit over and over. It is a must visit with so many family activities.
